Born in Kyoto. Daughter of Fukami Ryôsen, Kiyomizu-ware kiln. |

1972 |
From this time onwards, becomes student of the calligraphy master Fukada Hôsen, student of Hibino Gohô (1901 – 1975). Continues calligraphy instruction under Hôsen for over thirty years.
During time in Kyoto, takes part in the following exhibitions:

1977 |
Becomes student of the noted Nihonga painter Akamatsu Ryô (1933-1996). Intensive study of Nihonga painting. |

1985 |
Enters the Kyoto Arts College, majoring in Nihonga painting. |

1985-1991 |
While working at Shiga Prefecture Archaeological and Culture Center, produces and exhibits artwork at various exhibitions. |

1991-1998 |
After marriage, residence in Germany, Japan, and USA. Concentrates on the family, including the raising of five children. |

1998-2003 |
Resumes production of artwork. At Princeton University Graduate College, teaches numerous calligraphy workshops, 1998-2000.
Solo exhibition of paintings and calligraphy at the Princeton University in May-July, 2000.

Moves to Chicago, IL, USA. Exhibition of own work and calligraphy workshop at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, November 2003. |

In October, sole exhibition of calligraphy and paintings at the Schimitt-Ott Studio, Chicago.
Becomes calligraphy instructor at the University of Chicago Calligraphy Club, 2006-2007. |

In August, moves to Zurich, Switzerland. Becomes a member of the Vereins Japanischer Künstler in der Schweiz. |

2008-2013 |
Instructor at the University of Zurich. Teaches classes in East Asian calligraphy and brush painting to beginning and advanced university students. |

Solo exhibition of calligraphy and paintings at the Hinterbergstrasse Gallery, Zurich, March 29 – April 19, 2009.
Takes part in a group exhibition of Japanese art at the Japan Information and Cultural Center of the Japanese Embassy, Engestrasse 43, Bern. November 20 – December 12, 2009. |

Takes part in a group exhibition of the Japanese Artists in Switzerland Association at the United Nations in Geneva. November 1-19.
During this year, numerous collaborations between music and art at the Musik am Ritterweg musical program in Sarnen. |

Continue collaborations with music at the Musik am Ritterweg program in Sarnen at several occasions. Starting a series of works on Schubert’s Schwanengesang song cycle. Calligraphy demonstration and instruction at the Studieninfomationstage reception at the University of Zurich. “Wort und Bild in der Ostasiatischen Malerei.“ September 8-9. Participation in the CH Box project at several locations in support of the survivors of the tsunami and other disasters in Japan (2011-2012) |
